my iphone froze at the control centre screen and i cannot perform a hard reset. the phone is still responsive to screenshots and switching silent mode on/off. if i hold down my side button, i can see that siri still appears because the background colour changes.

What happens when you use this instructions?:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
keeping in mind that, after pressing and quick releasing volume buttons, you must press and hold your side (power) button until you see the Apple Logo (ignoring all other screens that appear). It might take also 30-45 seconds. Please try again.
