asking 6 digit passcode after simple restart

I've 6s which is asking 6 digit passcode after a simple restart.... I don't have backup since no computer ETC. No techy person.. I know this is because of auto software upgrade... but "000000" or 123456 is not working... phone is locked ... what can be done?

Every iPhone will ask for a passcode after a restart. The passcode is needed to unlock the secure enclave where your fingerprints or Face ID are stored. There is no default passcode, only the passcode that you created. If you forgot the passcode you must restore the phone using recovery mode. See the post from Mjmalabed above for a link to instructions on how to do this.

Then you will have to restore your phone. As to why it changed there is no way to find out after the fact; perhaps you have a company email account on your phone and your IT administrator added a requirement for a 6 digit passcode. It’s too late for a backup; these need to be made before you need them. And all you have to do is enable automatic backups to iCloud and plug in your phone overnight and your phone’s backup will never be more than 1 day old.
