Since August 19th Apple has implemented the shopping appointments.

You can set one up through the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad, or here: Shop with a Specialist - Apple

Thanks Deggie.

I went to the apple store today. The staff said I need to make an appointment. Can’t just go to a store and tell them I want to buy something.

That’s correct. I’m happy to see that Apple is protecting its employees and customers from COVID-19 infections.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a pandemic world wide that has infected 50 million people worldwide, including 10 million Americans, and killed 1.2 million worldwide, including 240,000 Americans. This has inconvenienced everyone, even you. It’s not a matter of lines, the controlling factor is the number of people in the store, which is limited by local regulations. Only an hour wait? This past week people waited on line 12 hours to vote.

I was told at store to go online to make appointment to shop with a specialist. Now you are saying that cannot be done. Please explain

Thanks Lawrence.

Sorry, I made that post before Apple enabled the option to make an appointment. At that time it was correct, and as such recommended by Apple. This is no longer the case as things can change in 3 months.

You can go to hhttps://www.apple.com/retail/instore-shopping-session/ now to set up an appointment.

Hello, Phil. I reported your Apple Recommended post as no longer being accurate (a couple of weeks ago) but apparently it’s hard to undo.

Thanks, yeah I've reported it too, but I guess its not high priority.

I bought a new iphone nad need a sim card and installed plus "Glass" front put on.....possible other accessory while in store

As mentioned cfor a sim card you need to contact yourr chosen cellular service provuder. For a tempered glass screen protector and to purchase other accessories set up an appointment in the link provided above.

Here it is again: link-> https://www.apple.com/retail/instore-shopping-session/

Update: They were not able to make me an appt. with a shopping specialist over the phone. To get an appt. go to https://www.apple.com/retail/instore-shopping-session/

Each of the stores in my city are “unavailable” to book appointments as all available appt.s are taken. I was instructed, over the phone with Apple, that my only recourse is to return to the website regularly to find when new appt. times open up.

I was unhappy with this plan. It is coronavirus and I totally appreciate the need for safety; however, I would like to book an appt. for a future day/ time, rather than constantly check for the website to offer new appointments.

Good luck everyone and stay safe.

See ➡️ Shop with a Specialist - Apple. Although with COVID-19 group size limitations it may be hard or impossible to get an in-person appointment where you are located, partly because of demand, and partly because Apple appears to be giving priority to visits to the genius bar for repairs. But you can have an online shopping session, and probably even pick up your purchase curbside at an Apple store.

For sales→Shop with a Specialist - Apple

Note that stores only have a small number of specific models in stock; if you want a Mac that isn’t one of those specific models or that has added features they will have to order it for you. In general, the models on the Apple website are the ones that you can walk out of the store with. Go here →Mac - Apple and click on the model you are interested in, or click on Compare if you are unsure. If the model is listed the store will probably have it.

Yes. It currently required to set up a shopping appointment. When I answered that originally back in August of last year, there was no way to make a shopping appointment. Now there is and is required.

Use the following link to set up an appointment if required, though note there may no appointments available. click here-> Shop with a Specialist - Apple

You have two options: On your computer go to https://apple.com/retail, search for and find the store you want to go to, and there will be a link to make an appointment. The other way is to go to Shop with a Specialist - Apple, fill out the details, and it will present a list of stores that you can choose from. This is only useful if you have several nearby stores, of course. I use it because I have 3 within a reasonable driving distance.
