Stuck on preparing to restore

A while ago, I got a notification that I needed to update my phone overnight but I think something happened while it was trying to update. It's stuck on a boot loop where it'll show the apple logo for a few seconds then revert to a black screen. I read that I could restore my phone through DUF mode but that doesn't seem to do the trick either. The progress bar will finish and itunes says that the phone will restart and be ready to use but to no avail. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks
