Airpods not connecting to iPhone

My airpods were having trouble connecting to my iPhone so I clicked "forget this device." Now my iPhone won't even recgonize or pick up the aipods as an option in my bluetooth screen in my settings. Any tips? I have tried resetting my airpods and no luck.
