Apple Watch Series 2 turns itself off in the middle of a work out session

I have an apple watch series 2 which has been perfect and all of a sudden, in the past few months, it turns itself off in the middle of a work out session usually. I see a lot of other people have been having this problem throughout all the different series, so surely this is a software problem across all devices? I have done all the recommended reboots, hard reboots, etc., etc. Please advise if Apple is looking at this as a matter of urgency
