Yes, you can do that.
One HDMI on the TV to connect to the Apple TV, and the HDMI-ARC port on the TV to connect to the HDMI-ARC port on the soundbar.
Apple TV → [HDMI] → TV → [HDMI-ARC] → soundbar
Alternatively, if your soundbar has multiple HDMI inputs (some models do), you can also connect it with the audio equipment as the hub, if you find that more convenient.

Yes, Apple TV <-- hdmi --> TV <-- hdmi --> Sound bar
Appreciate the reply. The sound bar has one hdmi. I’ve done as you have suggested, hdmi from arc2 on tv, to sound bar hdmi. This is what Polk advised as well. Hdmi also from Apple 4K to tv hdmi2. All I have is internal sound and picture. I’ve double checked sound inputs on
LG, utilizing both internal and external sources as simultaneous (until soundbar is emitting, then I’ll turn off internal).
