pairing watch and phone

Apple replaced my iphone x yesterday.

Watch is not connecting and pairing will not start after trying various fixes.

Do I have to reset apple watch?

Apple watch pairing apple watch not pairing with iPhone 8. Phone says turn on or power up watch and make sure it is not paired with another phone. The watch is turned on and fully charged and I unpaired and erased from my old phone.
