Verify payment

Why is iTunes and App Store asking me to verify my payment info when I try download a song/game? My default card is Apple Card. The balance was just paid in full. The other cards, including my debit card are in good standing. I have just recently changed my password but that shouldn’t be an issue. Tried changing my default card and that was no help. Obviously, I tried restarting the device. This happens on both my MacBook Air and iPhone XS Max. Happens in both App Store and iTunes Store.

You need to verify the payment card is active and yours. This is standard procedure when downloading paid or even free apps.
