2018 Mac Mini won't go into internet recovery mode

I am trying to reinstall an operating system onto my 2018 Mac Mini so I can sell it on eBay for needed money to help me pay for needed counseling services and needed speech language therapy. I already tried shift - option (alt) - command (Ctrl) - R and command (CTRL) - R to no luck. Every time I turn my 2018 Mac Mini and GeChic 1503H 15.6" Portable Monitor on my 2018 Mac Mini tries to go into internet recovery mode by allowing me to connect to my parent's AT&T internet connection. After a while of trying to connect to the Internet I get a message apple.com/support -2003F. I also think I deleted the operating system and I can no longer get an operating system onto my 2018 Mac Mini at all. I also have found out the 2018 Mac Mini will not allow me to install a new operating system using my flash drive (where I made a bootable version of Catalina OS on it) plugged into the 2018 Mac Mini. Any help will be appreciated on new ideas I could try before contacting Apple Support about this would be appreciated.

Hello redhead101,

We truly understand, and want to do all we can to reach a resolution. You're on the right track by needing to boot in to macOS recovery to complete the installation of macOS. Would you be able to try connecting to your parents internet using an ethernet cable? If not, would you have access to a different Wi-Fi network? The reason we ask is with the error you're facing it can indicate an issue with the internet connection which could prevent the mac from booting in to macOS recovery.

Have a great day.

Hello redhead101,

We know how important it is to erase and reinstall the macOS before selling your Mac, and we're here to help. To clarify a bit further what happens when attempting to boot in to macOS recovery using the key combination you mentioned? Is that when you're seeing the Mac attempt to boot in to internet recovery?

With the error you're seeing in internet recovery have you tried connecting to a different Wi-Fi network, or tried connecting using an ethernet cable? If not, we recommend trying a different Wi-Fi network, or connecting to an ethernet cable to see if the issue persists. For reference we've linked the steps for reinstalling below as well.

Take care!

I have no way of connecting to my parents internet using ethernet cable at all. I have to take this 2018 Mac Mini to an Apple authorized retailer to get it looked at. An Apple support person I texted with earlier today, Friday, August 21, 2020 told me I need to get the hard drive of my 2018 Mac Mini looked at since it won't go to startup manager so I can get use my flash drive to reinstall an operating system hopefully MacOS Catalina on it to be able to sell it on eBay afterwards for sale.

I have tried all of the options Apple has given me to get into recovery mode. I accidentally deleted the operating system and cannot get an operating system back onto my 2018 Mac Mini I am trying to sell on eBay for needed money. I also have no problem connecting to my parent's AT&T private internet connection on my other Apple devices, like my 2017 13" MacBook Pro and 10.5" iPad Pro at all, just with the 2018 Mac Mini only I have problems with finishing Internet Recovery Mode. After being in a Internet Recovery mode for a while I get a message of apple.com/support -2300F. Never had this take place on my other Apple devices. I just wish resetting the 2018 Mac Mini was just as easy as it is to reset Apple iPads are.
