I accidentally deleted the mail app how do I get my account working again?

I deleted the mail app that comes with the iPad and iPhone and I can't access my account with it. I re downloaded the app and when I try to restart it dose not change anything. Can anyone help?

Have you added the email account back since you deleted the app?

I can't remember exactly how but it was turned off in settings so I turned it back on.
