airpods keep disconnecting

i’ve had my 1st gen airpods since they’ve come out and they worked perfectly until a couple months ago were they kept disconnecting and they still do till this day i don’t know why it’s happening and it’s really annoying i’m thinking of getting the 2nd gen for my birthday but will they do the same?
