Adding a landline to my AppleID acct

When I tried to add my landline phone number to my AppleID acct, it texted a verification code to my landline that can't receive text messages. How can I get it to call instead of text.

Were you given an option to choose to get a call? From the article below.

If you want to add a phone number, click Add a Trusted Phone Number and enter the phone number. Choose to verify the number with a text message or automated phone call, and click Continue.

Have you tried deleting the landline number and adding it back to see if you can get an automated call number option?

“Reachable at” can ONLY be your iPhone cellular telephone number. That is then tied to your FaceTime and iMessage accounts for people to send to. It is registered automatically the moment you sign into messaging or FaceTime on an iPhone.

Under “Trusted Phone Numbers” (the AppleID security section) you can add ANY telephone numbers you wish. You can add work numbers, google voice numbers, Ooma, Skype and other VOIP numbers, other people’s numbers (if you trust those people - your decision).

I'm not sure you can do that.  Contact Apple ID Support for assistance.  See the Apple Support articles below for contact information.
