Apple TV/iPhone to projector

I am wondering if it is possible to download the Apple movies I have bought to my phone or iPad and then take my Apple TV to my cabin where there is no wifi and project them on the side of the cabin for a fun movie night for kids using air play. I would also be interested if my husband and I would be able to watch an episode of Netflix, amazon prime or crave in this way?

We tried to hotspot iPhone to laptop last time we were there and connect to projector and nothing would Stream. We could only get a few of our downloaded movies to play too (not sure thinking the ones that played were in SD and the others in a format called HLS would not play.

any ideas how to

do this would be great

Commercial content (iTunes Store movies, Netflix, Crave, Amazon Prime) requires a HDCP compatible chain from decoder box to screen, including all devices in between (if any). Having an analog converter for a projector would break the HDCP chain. Having a non-HDCP compatible projector (many ‘business’ projectors) would break the HDCP chain.

Most YouTube content will not require HDCP.

it doesn’t seem to be streaming now I just tried it with wifi and it won’t work off my phone or laptop. I keep getting the message device not supported or must be HDCP compatible. :(. I wonder how people project episodes of their favourite shows on a projector when they have a home theatre. I tried Netflix, crave and amazon prime. Must be something with those sites bc YouTube worked just fine.
