Replacing EFI Chip with one from another MacBook

Hi, I have a 2012 15” Unibody MacBook Pro that we found in our garage and had no idea where it came from. It works perfectly however when we turn it on we are greeted with an EFI Firmware password. I did some research and it turns out the only solutions really are to desolder (which I am capable of doing) the EFI chip and putting it in a special device to remove the password, or replace the chip itself. We have a Early-2011 15” MBP whose battery has exploded and were wondering if it would be possible to take the EFI chip out of that and solder it into the 2012 MacBook considering they both have the same model no. (A1286). Would this work? If you know please reply!
