Can the new iPad Pro Wi-Fi only be tethered to your iPhone for access when Wi-Fi is not available

A WiFi Only iPad can be used with any WiFi hotspot - it does not need to be your own.


The benefit of using your own iPhone is that your iPad can automatically establish/enable the hotspot link - whereas connection to another hotspot likely requires the owner of the hotspot to manually enable their hotspot and share with you the required password.
