can't follow friends on apple music
I can't sync contacts to apple music, see the option for follow more friends, or see the option to see what friends are listening to. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
iPhone 8, iOS 13

Hi Lnh4147,
Thanks for posting in Apple Communities! Sounds like you're unable to follow your friends in Apple Music and we'd be happy to help. Let's take a look at your settings first. In Apple Music, go to the "For You" tab, then click on your photo in the upper- right corner, you should now be in "Account". about half way down the page you should see " Find Friends".
Is "Contacts on Apple Music" switched on? This should allow your contacts to sync with Apple Music.
Once that's switched on you can See what friends are listening to in Apple Music.
Hope that helps!

Lnh4147,
Thank you for checking that the setting is turned on. Is the iOS on your iPhone up to date? Check out how to update it here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Do you have another device with Apple Music? If so, does the same thing occur?
Are you currently connected to Wi-Fi or Cellular? Does it happen on both?
Are you part of Family Sharing? Is the Apple ID a Childs account or an Adult account? Sharing music with friends isn't available for Child accounts that are part of Family Sharing.
Happy to help!
Hi Lnh4147,
Thank you for providing that information. Have you signed out and back in to your Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Store? Keep in mind that doing this will remove any music you have downloaded to your device for offline use so you will need to re-download them.
Also, do you follow anyone already? If so, are you able to remove and follow them with no issue? Are you able to connect your social media account and follow contacts there?
If you're not able to follow any of your social media contacts or unable to unfollow and follow a contact you were already following, you may want to reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. You may be able to reach them here: Get Support.
Take care!
Hi Lnh4147,
Thank you for trying those steps. You can try deleting and reinstalling the Music app itself. Doing this will remove any music you have downloaded to your device for offline use so you will need to re-download them.
Check out: Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch
If you're still unable to sync your contacts, you may be able to reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. You may be able to reach them here: Get Support.
Have a great day!
Contacts on Apple Music is turned on. Still does not give the option to see what friends are listening to or follow more friends. A message that “no contacts found” comes up.
Yes, on all three devices this occurs. Family sharing was on but turned off just in case. Occurs with and without WiFi.
I have done all of those things. And I can follow and unfollow people I already follow on Apple Music. And other social media accounts. Still can not sync contacts to Apple Music.
