education discount

I want to buy a laptop from different country ( usa) ; my country doesn't have an apple store . In order to avail the education discount can I use my .edu mail ( I study in my country ,so the .edu mail will not belongs to any usa based institute ) ? if so what will be the procedure to buy that and show proof that I am a student?(someone else will buy the product for me)
