How do I default all programs on Macbook Pro to full screen? Who wants split screen on a 13" monitor? This is a monumental pain in the butt to have to manually enlarge screens...
App windows will generally open in the way that windows were last closed. Open all the windows in a application to the mode in which you want to see them. Then, quit the application. What happens when you restart it?

Safari>Preferences>Tabs
make some changes here:
Change Tabs preferences in Safari on Mac - Apple Support
If you quit Safari in full screen mode, it will launch in full screen mode. I don't know what Google does.
De-select "Close windows when quitting an app" in System Preferences > General.
Or, just don't quit the apps. There is no reason to quit apps.
Yeah, that's one way... The catch is, if I open another tab, it opens in the smaller version. It may be time to sell off my Apple products and find something else. I'm over it all. The latest updates have killed my battery as well, but that's a different thread.

Something is wrong with your installation. To determine what it is will take at least as much cooperation on your part as it does mine. That's not looking promising, so Contact Support to determine your options. Have a credit card ready.

I've noticed across ALL of my Apple products that the updates routinely change settings and it frustrates me to no end, because I have no idea how or what to adjust to get back to life as I knew it. I use computers, ipads, etc. daily, but I am borderline computer illiterate when it comes to settings.
Apple Support, although normally helpful is equally as frustrating to get someone on the phone, however it has never cost me a thing. I wish I would pay them to correct something their update changed. LOL, that's funny.

That is most helpful. Why then do both Safari and Chrome not open in full screen?
Nope, no joy. It still opens as a smaller window... Same with Chrome
They still open in the smaller size. I know I can click full screen, just can't figure out how to make full screen default.
You should always buy the tool that best meets your needs.

I want to default to full screen, why has Apple made split screen default. Do we not have options to use OUR computers the way WE want them?
