Use two Mac apps side by side in Split View - Apple Support
Hover your pointer over the green "traffic light" at upper left and you'll see choice of left or right. Put one window on the left, another on the right. Not exactly a split screen, but sometimes will do.
Do you mean Split View, where you can 'tile' one application on the left side and another on the right side?
