What is the difference between "my ipad" and "my child's ipad" when you try to change settings?

I was setting up some controls on my ipad and it asked the question: Is this your ipad or your child's ipad? I answered that it was mine, but what is the difference? It is an ipad I bought for my child, but I'm the owner of it although I don't use it.

If it makes a difference, how do I go back and change my answer to "this is my child's ipad"? Thank you.

An iPad is intended to be used by exactly one person. Each person, regardless of age, has her/his own, unique Apple ID.

So you tried to set up restrictions using Screen Time. You were asked whether you were using your child's iPad or your own.

Family Sharing is the way you can share items like contacts, music, applications, etc. with your child. Again, your child has her/his own device.

Here's more information.

Hello, thank you. There is one ipad, it belongs to me, I am a grownup. I don't like Apple devices and find them very difficult to use. I am a Windows person. I bought this ipad for my child because his school requires it. I don't know what Family Sharing is.

When I went into Settings>Screen Time (I think), it asked me Is this your ipad or your child's ipad? and I answered mine. I am just trying to lock down the ability to download apps/games, but I need Google classroom available. When I tried to disable the games/apps, it locked me out of Google also.
