Is my watch dead and if so, what can I do with it?

I have an Apple Watch series 1. It began losing battery strength over the last several weeks. Then it showed the green charging cable icon and finally nothing at all on the screen. I cleaned the charger disk and tried a "forced start" that was suggested. Nothing has happened. What can I do? Help!!
