Receiving this msg and unable to maintain connection / send emails on Mail:
'Connections to the server “p48-imap.mail.me.com” on the default ports timed out'
I don't have this issue with Mail on any of my IOS devices. pls help. thx

You can't add settings in SMTP when gmail account is set up with IMAP account , they are dimmed by default and you should not add port settings , or other box by its own , it will not be saved , keep them empty .
Doesn’t appear to provide a solution for Mojave - can’t see same options but my google mail and iCloud mail servers aren’t appearing in the ‘edit smtp server list’. They do appear on the list of accounts found under preferences. How do I add these back of for some reason they have been removed
it also depends upon network settings in Mac if they are incorrect or router is corrupted / sometimes ISP server is also down .
A single incorrect network settings will disconnect the mail application and it can be reflected when you try to sign in with Apple ID at www.icloud.com
Ok so I haven’t added any settings anyway. In fact I haven’t made any changes whatsoever to the email accounts so why am I spring the connection issue?
