Slim Folio

Cannot use the keyboard - is there a setting to use to activate? If I try to pair, a code is provided, but I can't type it on the keyboard. I have the folio that should be connecting automatically -- the three dots are on the bottom and I stand it up in the groove. Any help or suggestions?
