I wanted to use my old iPhone for as an iPod or apps for my kids but I can’t download anything thing because it’s still using iOS 7 which it’s says is up to date on my old phone

It sounds like you are wanting to use your iPhone 4 as an iPod but its on iOS 7 and you cannot download any apps. The iPhone 4 cannot update past iOS 7, iOS 8 is for iPhone 4s or later. I wanted to use my iPhone 4 as an iPod so I connect to the radio I bought and the sound bar that has an iPhone cradle but it says it has the latest version of iOS which is 7. 4 how can I make this my ipod
