Hi zoë9404,

Thanks so much for visiting our Apple Support Communities for help with this issue you're experiencing when attempting to enable Wi-Fi on your device. We're certainly glad to help in any way we can, and point you in the right direction.

Have you had an opportunity to restart your iPhone since noticing the Wi-Fi button grayed-out? If not, let's do so now. Here's a guide with the steps for a standard restart:

Restart your iPhone

If you find that the same issue remains after restarting your device, we recommend backing up your iPhone's data and ensuring that it's fully updated. Please refer to the instructions in this Knowledge Base article with the steps to back up and update your device:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

At that point, if the issue still isn't resolved, the next step is to reset network settings. To perform this step, navigate to Settings > General > Reset, and tap Reset Network Settings. This won't erase any of your information. It does reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

We're here for you if you've got any questions.

Have a great day!

Hi zoë9404,

Thanks for confirming that the issue persists after resetting your network settings. In that case, this isolates the issue to the Wi-Fi component directly, so we recommend reaching out via our Apple Support site to go over service options for your device.
