Common issues with Messenger on Iphone 11?

Hello guys, this is my first time using an IPhone 11 and I've some questions:

1. With the swipe from the left edge to go back, do you have to wait for the previous animation to complete first? For example: When I'm using Messenger or iMessage, if I accidentally tap open a conversation and immediately swipe from the left edge to go back, the phone doesn't responding to that gesture and I have to do it the second time for it to work. The same thing happen when I pull the keyboard up or down, I have to wait for it go up or down completely before I swipe to go back.

2. Occasionally, when I copy a picture on Facebook and then switch to Messenger and paste it in a conversation, after sending the picture I notice that I can't use the swipe to go back gesture (only the swipe gesture doesn't work, everything else work just fine), instead I have to tap the go back icon on the top left to go back. Is this a common issue for all people or just me?
