is a QR code reader built into my iPhone X?
Is a QR code reader app built into my iPhone X? If so, how do I access/use the QR code reader? If not, is there a free QR code reader that you recommend?
iPhone X, iOS 13

I tried to scan a QR code with my camera: Good news! It worked. So, even though the QR code app doesn't show up on my iPhone Control Center, the QR code app still seems to be there.
Thanks for your help!
You seem to be accessing a totally different app. You simply need to use the included camera app.
It's there.

Huh? What causes this? What events lead up to it?
Read the above article carefully. Is the QR code being held up for the rear-facing camera actually supposed to lead to a website?
I didn't realize that my iPhone X had a built in QR code reader app. I went to the Apple store to search for a QR code reader app. After that, the ad for one of the apps popped up every time I tried to use the QR code reader. Just now, i deleted that app. I went back to Control Center and checked QR code reader as one of the apps that would appear on my Control Center. Unfortunately, no QR code reader appears in my Control Center. So, how do I restore the QR code reader that Apple provided with my iPhone X?
When I tap on QR code reader, i see an ad offering a subscription for the QR code reader. Is the built in QR code reader free? If so, then why the ad?
Control Center is only an auxiliary way to open the Camera. There is no built-in "QR code app" and additionally nothing about QR codes is available in Control Center.
Enjoy your iPhone.
Thanks.
