I can’t use my iMac’s mouse on mac os utilities, what can I do? I need to select de hard drive to download mojave on, but I can’t use the keyboard to click on it

A new Mac can not run Mojave, it can only run Catalina or later macOS's.

I am downgrading from Catalina to Mojave, but when I get to mac os utilities, my mouse won’t work on my imac, how can I solve this? Because I can only use a couple of things here and there with the keyboard, but not everything
