I haven't see other's say they've had this happen. I haven't had it happen.
Is your iPad updated to the very latest iPadOS 13.6.1?
Have you removed the iPad from the keyboard and put it back on?
Have you tried to clean the three charging spots on the back of the iPad and Magic Keyboard?
If none of that helps, try a Forced Restart, by:
Press and quickly release volume up button
Then press and quickly release volume down button
Then press and keep holding the power button (keep holding past the swipe to power off) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go. Once you sign back into your iPad, see if the Keyboard works.
