Apple Watch series 3 sensors not working

Hi all

about 2 days ago, my Apple Watch stopped recording all activity date (steps, heart beat, workout etc etc). I also noticed that the screen would not come on when my wrist was raised and that bedside mode no longer worked.

I initially forced a restart if the watch and it worked again, but only until I went to bed and recharged it. In the morning it stopped working again. Since then I have not been able to fix it.

I have checked that settings are correct and have forced restarts of both watch and phone. I have unpaired and repaired, backed up and restored (from the back up). All software is up to date.

i phones Apple yesterday. They ran a diagnostic and said there are issues with the heart rate monitor and other sensors and basically said I could send it in but they would want me to pay up front for a replacement as they will likely not bother repairing it as it is out of warranty.

Has anyone had the same problem and does anyone have ideas regarding a solution?
