MacBook Air - FaceTime in landscape?

I have a newer MacBook Air (bought November 2019). How can I get the camera to switch orientation so that I can make FaceTime calls in landscape rather than portrait mode?

Command-R (or Video menu > Use Landscspe, or just click the rotation icon on the self-display). Note that you must be on a call to make the switch.
