Using Macrium Reflect to backup/restore W10 on a MacBook Air

I have a dual boot MacBook Air running High Sierra 10.13.6 and Windows 10 and use Macrium Reflect to backup the Windows partition. Although I've not had cause to restore the Windows partition I'd like to try it to make sure it works but am a little reluctant in case it alls goes south and I have to reinstall Windows. Does anybody have any experience of doing this using either MR or any other backup/restore programme ? Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you have a good backup of your macOS side as well. I would also suggest having a standard backup of the Windows side as well if it contains important data so that you can easily recover it if the Macrium Reflect option causes problems with the macOS side or doesn't allow Windows to boot again.

While I've never used Boot Camp personally or Macrium Reflect you should be Ok if you are only restoring to a single partition. I know our organization uses WinClone to image the Windows side of our organization's Macs. I'm not involved in the imaging or managing of our Boot Camp Windows partitions so I have no direct experience.

It is smart to test out the process before you really need it to make sure it will actually work and to know whether there are any unintended side effects. As long as Macrium Reflect doesn't touch the partition table or the other partitions, then it should be Ok. I've heard good things about Macrium Reflect, but never had a reason to use it yet.
