disabled iphone icloud backup

Can you backup your icloud with your screen locked and disabled? It usually will backup automatically if its connected to wifi, on charge and locked screen, but it's not. It's disabled from wrong password attempts and I'm just trying to save the last 2 months of photos before I factory reset it. It wasn't backing up before it was disabled because my icloud storage was full, but I've purchased more and there's lot of room available.

If backing up to iCloud, then yes the screen needs to be locked -- How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support, in addition to the device being connected to power and WiFi as well. The article doesn't mention anything about the device having to be "disabled".

  • Connect your device to a power source.
  • Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Make sure that your device's screen is locked.

It's disabled from wrong password attempts

What's disabled? If you Apple ID is disabled, then see the following -- If your Apple ID is locked or disabled - Apple Support. Entering the incorrect password too many times will often disable your account.

The device wasn't backing up either because of lack of sufficient iCloud storage or device storage -- If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support. Seeing as you've said you purchased extra iCloud storage, does your device also have sufficient storage on it?
