Telling Thunderbird to launch

In the past I have used

Tell application "Mail" to launch as a login script. This would simply start Mail running and not open a Mail window.

I have since switched to Thinderbird and the same script opens a Thunderbid window after around 8-10 seconds. I assume AppleScript and Thundrbird are'nt as "happy" together as is Mail. Is their a workaround where Thunderbird would start running on startup but no window would open?

Thanks
