Raid Charade in Catalina on my MBP mid 2012
I would love to upgrade my machine but it still works and only have it for work.
I upgraded to Catalina and my SSD became corrupted.
No worries until the time machine failed too :/
Managed to manually extract from the TM and fresh install
Bought a time capsule. Another Catalina update and the SSD went again and didn't come back.
(could be age but wondered why updates killed it even tho health check said it was fine)
Bought a pair of SSD and evicted the CD-rom to external case and Raid 0 the SSD's
recovered from the time capsule - just to discover loads of bugs.
Workarounds for all the bugs but no fixes - and also read Apple doesn't want us raiding
our machines - would have thought preventing the setup would have been a better method
than finding out in the OS functions
Anyway maybe a clean install and after the time machine fail I have more backups than a timid police officer. Just to be told a virgin install will not go onto an Apple Raid..
I was hoping to put my machine on light duties whilst saving up for a replacement.
but feel I'm entering the last generations of apple products for me because of the redundancy
written into them... I have a fully function iPad sitting in a draw also.. I'm not buying another.
So can I Raid 0 my MBP and have it run properly or not?
