macbook air 2014

I am wondering if it's interesting to buy a macbook air 2014. There are any disadvantages in upgrades software or compatible apps etc. comparing new models like 2019 of 2020?

The 2014 has a "heat pipe" (i.e. a piece of thermally conductive metal) that runs from the processor's heat sink to the fan; which is technically "active" cooling vs passive cooling exhibited in the 2020. Now, this being said, the "passive" cooling in the 2020 is not strictly passive, because there does exist a fan to pull hot air out from inside the chassis; it also seems like there are ridges/grooves in the 2020's heat sink to help facilitate better airflow internally, which may or may not aid the removal of hot air from the internals.
