Yahoo Mail Gets Stuck in Outbook on MacBook Pro

A couple months ago my yahoo mail on my MacBook Pro stopped working. I tried updating the OS, deleting and adding again my yahoo mail, trying to edit the SMTP since it says offline. Nothing I tried from my google searches worked. Granted, I am not very tech saavy, but I would like to fix it. Yahoo Mail works fine from the webmail browser and iPhone. It is just extremely annoying that I cannot send emails from Mail on my MacBook.

I've tried inputting various things in my outgoing mail account but it continually says offline. I can receive mail just fine. Anybody else have this problem and success fixing it?

Thanks for getting back to us!


What we'd like to do is test this behavior in an alternate user. Follow the steps outlined at Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac to set up a new Administrator user. Once that's done, log out of your normal user account and into the new. 


Set up your mail account in this alternate user and let us know if the problem still persists.

Given that this is also failing to work in an alternate user, this would suggest that there's an issue within the settings for your mail account. To ensure that you have the correct ones, we would recommend reaching out to Yahoo support at this point to verify those settings.

Hi,

Thank you for the links and tips. I have checked and done all these already, but retried them just in case. No luck. I still get this message:


This message could not be sent because your account does not have a preferred outgoing mail server. Select an outgoing mail server from the list below.


But then I go back and redo the steps, selecting the outgoing mail server, doing connection doctor and nothing happens. Still reverts back to offline. I do not have any Firewall issues.


OS is up to date. Just downloaded latest update yesterday. Not sure what else to try.
