What is WD Discovery and why is it on my imac? Maybe it was an old back up??I have LaCie Apple Time Machine.

I suspect that WD Discovery is an app that came with an external drive. I would simply remove it. I (and others here) have found those drive managers to be very problematic and I recommend never using them.

50,000 changed files found by TimeMachine? I have TimeMachine set to back up when I tell it to, rather than automatically, and do so regularly. I last did a TimeMachine backup on Dec. 10. On Dec. 13, when the 13.1 update arrived, I told it to do a backup. The drop-down in the menu bar said it found 50,000+ changed files. That doesn't seem reasonable for three days, so I stopped the backup. I then, from System Settings, downloaded and installed 13.1. I've mostly been surfing the web. Is 50,000+ changed files reasonable for TimeMachine to find in three days? What might cause this?
