how to disable predictive text for external keyboard and enable for on-screen keyboard?

I don’t have any need for predictive text / QuickType suggestions when I use an external keyboard with my iPad, but I do find the feature useful when I use the on-screen floating keyboard. Is there a way to disable predictive text for the external keyboard, but keep it enabled for the on-screen keyboard?

iPad on screen keyboard controls Hi there, Couldn’t find any threads about this annoying “feature” so far. In iOS14 and above there was keyboard options added to the screen when an external keyboard is used to type stuff. These options are always floating in middle or corner. the problem is it is preventing me to for example click “save” or “send” in many apps as these buttons are also in the same corner, or it covers other information when moved to opposite corner. There doesn’t seem to be an option to just get rid of it for whatever reason - unless I’m missing it? Any idea how to just disable it?

Predictive text bar on iPad w/ Magic Keyboard I have M1 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and it is driving me nuts that the predictive text is hidden in that floating settings button that lives in the left corner. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to make it stay visible. I have to tap it every single time I write out a message. Horrible design. Even autocorrect seems to not be working unless I tap that button. Any advice?
