How or where to return damaged AirPod?

I ordered a replacement airpod which I received but I did not receive the instructions on how or where to return the damaged one despite the fact the email I received indicated I would receive shipping materials as well as instructions. What I am supposed to do it the damaged item?

Call AppleCare, give them your repair ID number and ask.
