Stolen product

I paid for a new MacBook and it was stolen. Does the Apple Card provide any insurance or protection for stolen items recently purchased with the card ?

MacBook, macOS 10.14

What makes you so certain it was stolen?

A Few Thoughts for Recovering This:

  • Use “Find My”:

Go Here: iCloud - Find My - Apple and see if it is enabled. Use the steps provided there to locate it.

  • Backtrack your Locations:

If you were at a retail store or local cafe', then stop by and see if if was placed aside by the store manager. Also, contact friends, family members, and coworkers, seeing if it has been come across.

  • Also, Contact Local Authorities:

Perhaps someone is keen enough to have handed it over to local authorities. See if they have found it.

What To Do If Your Mac Is Lost Or Stolen

If you activated Find My Mac before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet. What you cannot do is track your computer using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your computer for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty. Be sure to report the loss or theft to the local police. Have the serial number handy. If your Mac is found, it cannot be returned to you unless you have the serial number and proof of purchase.

Find My Mac can be used from Find My Phone at iCloud.com and via Find My Phone on your iDevice.

The following is third-party anti-theft software:

  2. VUWER 1.7
  3. Undercover 5.1.1
  4. LoJack for Laptops
  5. Hidden 2.0
