Garageband does not update - brand new mac

Hello,

I just got a brand new macbook air, and although I have tried many times I am unable to update garage band. Besides the annoying notification, I get this message, saying it was refunded or purchased with a different apple id. Seeing as this came pre-installed, I don't get it.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Try the following:

  • Move the preinstalled copy of GarageBand from the Applications folder to the Trash (but do not empty the Trash for now).
  • Then launch the AppStore again and go to the first tab of the AppStore. Search there for GarageBand and purchase it (for free) with your current AppleID.

Or use the download link on this web page to find GarageBand at the AppStore:
