AirPods Pro and video connectivity

My new AirPods Pro work well for sound but interfere with iPhone connectivity for video calls (Facetime, zoom, Whatsapp), similar to a bad connection (regardless of WiFi or 5G). There is no problem with audio calls and the problem goes away when I disconnect the AirPods Pro. Has anyone seen this? Is there a workaround?
