USB hub too hot

The problem with overheating USB hubs is not Anker's. Google the issue. It appears that all USB hubs get hot, and the more things that are plugged in the hotter they get. I just had an external hard drive ruined after being plugged into a hub. The hub has 7 ports and I was only using 3 including the hard drive. With 2 items it was warm. With 3 it was burning hot.

People everywhere have this problem and it is NOT because we are charging our laptops

through the hub. That would be silly. We are using hubs because Apple doesn't

give us enough ports on our computers. I have searched everywhere for a real answer to this problem. I

hope someone on this forum has one.

If you can raise that device up about 3/4 inch, it can develop a convection current underneath, and will stay much cooler. I used double rubber feet under my Gigabit Ethernet Switch and it went from burning hot to pleasantly warm.
