Macbook Air 2017 battery draining

The battery of my Macbook Air 2017 is draining very fast. Sometimes, even when the laptop is closed, the battery just dies and when I try to use it I have to plug it no matter what.

I keep the screen brightness kind of low but even like this, I can only use the computer for 2 hours (sometimes less than that) and that's it. I find it strange that when I am charging it, it does charge very fast as well, though I am not sure if this is normal or not.

The battery cycle is at 311, so I am not seeing any justified reason for this to happen.

Hello there, luchicient.

We understand that your MacBook Air is having some battery performance issues.

Asides from changing the screen brightness, there are other settings that you can optimize to help improve the battery's performance. Go through the steps in this guide to make those changes.

You can also use Activity Monitor to see which apps and processes are using the most energy.

You also mentioned you had checked the cycle counts for your Mac. The cycle count for your model of MacBook Air is 1000.

In this instance, you may want to check your settings, and make any adjustments to see if that helps improve the battery's performance.

Cheers!
