Watch & Phone pairing difficulty

Trying to pair my new 3series watch with my iPhone 6. Even though I have updated my software: iOS 12.4.8, the app tells me I don’t have the latest software to pair?


please help

Do you know what software version the Apple Watch is running? Because if it's a brand new watch (rather than used), it's probably watchOS 6, and if it's running watchOS 6, you need a device running at least iOS 13 to pair.
