Activation Lock Incorrect Apple ID

How to resolve an iphone device which requires an activation lock? Upon entering the Apple ID and Password, the device responded that the Apple ID is incorrect and it cannot be used to unlock the device. Please respond..thanks.

If this is a used device, you need to be able to contact the previous owner to have them log out of iCloud or go to https://www.icloud.com/find/ My Phone and erase the device, then remove it from their account. If you can’t do that, the device is useless. Apple won't unlock it.


Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support.     


If you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the Activation Lock if provided the required paperwork. Either take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened)

Your error message says it all. You must enter the Apple ID and password to which your phone is currently locked. On the page where you must enter the information, there is a hint as to what the Apple ID is. It will look like "h*******@icloud.com" or "k******4@h********l.com". If this is your Apple ID, use this hint to remember which Apple ID is on your phone. If you just acquired your phone from someone else, that person must release his Apple ID from your phone. The previous owner can do this remotely, but it must be done by the owner of the Apple ID.
