unable to print from an ipad or an ipad mini 4

Since i changed an ink cartridge my HP printer I cannot print from an old original IPAD or my current

Mini 4. The iPads can see the router but on selecting a page to print it does not fire up the hp 5524 printer. Now the strange thing is that I can print on the MacBook Air (wirelessly) no problem. I don't suspect the printer but possibly the settings on the iPad mini and the original iPad have changed
