Watch face defaults to analog

Does anyone have a solution to why my watch face pic (of my grandkids) routinely disappears and it defaults to an analog one? I’m always able to reset it from my iPhone11, but it’s be nice if the picture would just stay. Any idea what’s going on? Please. And thank you.
